Desuperheaters

Probe-Type/Integral Control

The combination of desuperheater spray element and spraywater control provides extremely high turndown capability, double that of previously available units.

Multiple nozzles are staged to achieve variable sprayhead Cv's, as illustrated below in photographs of 15%, 50% and 100% spraypatterns.

    15%                             50%                             100%

Inserted into steam flow via a 3 inch flanged connection into the steam piping. Spraywater is connected directly to the desuperheater via 1 inch flanged connection.

Water pressure of 50 to 1600 psi above steam pressure is is employed to generate thin film, conical sprays which are injected into the A separate water control valve is not required because water flow control is an integral function of the desuperheater itself.

High Temperature Remote Control Element

Yarway has developed a revolutionary design to address the need for desuperheaters that can operate reliably in steam flows over 1100° Fahrenheit. By locating the control elements above the "probe" portion of the desuperheater, the sliding element is not exposed to the direct flow of steam.

Small Pipe In-Line (SPID®)

A fixed orifice design that is installed between ANSI standard flanges. Spraywater control is by an external control valve.
